What is the standard volumetric divisor?
Air and courier shipments normally use 6000, sea freight often uses 5000 and road freight 4000. Always confirm the divisor with your carrier because it varies by lane and contract.
Why is volumetric weight higher than my actual weight?
Because a large, light shipment takes up more space in the aircraft or container than its weight suggests. Carriers charge for the space you occupy, not only the mass.
Can I use inches instead of centimetres?
