About FreightCalc

Free, no-signup calculators for freight forwarders, importers, exporters and e-commerce sellers.

FreightCalc is a small collection of free online calculators for people who move cargo. If you have ever needed to work out the cubic volume of a shipment, settle the chargeable weight before quoting a customer, or decide whether a full container is cheaper than a partial one, the tools here are built for exactly that.

Why we built it

Freight pricing depends on a handful of numbers that get calculated over and over: volume in cubic metres, volumetric weight, the divisor your carrier applies, and the point where booking a full container beats paying per cubic metre. Getting those figures wrong costs real money, and doing them by hand in a spreadsheet is slow and easy to get wrong.

So we built the calculators we wanted to use ourselves: fast, accurate, and free.

How the calculators work

Accuracy

The arithmetic is exact and follows the standard conventions above, but carriers apply their own rounding increments, minimum charges and divisors. Treat every result as a planning figure, not a final invoice. For customs and billing documents, always use the figures from your carrier's own weighbridge and measuring equipment.
